6 PANCRAS SQUARE

6 Pancras Square is the site for Google’s new headquarters in London, situated between Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. Designed by Allford Hall Monaghan and Morris, the 371,000 sq foot building houses approximately 2,800 employees.

In order to facilitate creativity, the building has been deliberately designed with plenty of communal areas to allow engineers working on different projects to converse and collaborate. Google want staff to feel looked after so free food is provided in cafés and canteens, whilst there is a gym surrounded by a 90 metre running track. Massages, cookery classes and sleep pods are all laid on to aid staff performance to the optimum level.

The building overlooks Pancras Square with its lawned areas and seating beneath trees providing an area to pause and relax. Restaurants and cafés around the perimeter cater further for users of the building, whilst an underground passage takes staff straight to the office from King’s Cross St Pancras station.

Shadbolt manufactured and supplied a multitude of doors to the project including the following:

Google offices - Bespoke FSC certified FD30, FD60, FD120 fire resisting doors and high performance (43dB) acoustic doors and doorsets factory spray lacquered in RAL 9010 Pure White, RAL 9004 Signal Black, RAL 7047 Telegrey and RAL 7015 Slate Grey.
