DE VERE GARDENS, KENSINGTON, W8
De Vere Gardens based in Kensington is a grand new residential development by architects David Chipperfield & Associates. It consists of two brand new seven storey buildings and overlooks Kensington Palace Gardens.
As well as featuring a large quantity of Shadbolt European oak veneered panels, doors and doorsets, exotic materials from all over the world were used including French Bleu de Savoie for kitchen flooring and Italian Pietra del Cardoso for kitchen worktops. Book matched Calacatta marble takes pride of place in the master bedrooms.
Early 18th century records indicate that the plot was originally agricultural with an abundance of orchards; a riding school was then added in the mid 19th century. The site was ultimately developed in the late 19th century into a residential community with some of houses subsequently being converted into the Kensington Park Hotel.
