Bridge Theatre

Designed by Haworth Tompkins, the Bridge Theatre is a new commercial theatre building, part of Berkeley Homes’ One Tower Bridge development, which is situated by City Hall overlooking the Thames.

The theatre, central London’s first new major theatre in 20 years, is home to the London Theatre Company, established by Nick Hytner and Nick Starr, who formerly ran the Royal National Theatre.

The venue seats 900 and features a state-of-the-art prefabricated modular auditorium that brings flexibility and the latest in-stage technologies to the cutting-edge theatre, offering theatre-makers a platform to create adventurous new work.

It was of utmost importance that the doors leading into the auditorium had the highest sound attenuating qualities. Shadbolt were asked to manufacture and supply bespoke FSC certified factory primed sound attenuating performance doors and also FD30 and FD60 fire performance doors, factory hung into corresponding doorsets.
